Our Top 10 Must Watch Christmas Movies!

Well the silly season is upon us and who doesn’t like a good Christmas movie? Just watching Christmas movies gets you all excited about Christmas! We only have 1 month to watch Christmas movies so I will get a start on my all time favourite movies!

1. Elf (2003)

I think Will Ferrel is a genius – such a nice movie.

Description: After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity.


2. Deck the Halls (2006)

I love feuding neighbours and Christmas lights

Description: Two neighbors have it out after one of them decorates his house for the holidays so brightly that it can be seen from space.


3. Love Actually (2003)

Well who doesn’t love a romantic comedy but what makes this movie even better is that dishy Hugh Grant is in it – such a feel good movie.

Description: Follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England.


4. Jingle All the Way (1996)

Lets admit we all love Arny!!

Description: A father decides to dream the impossible; to get a Turbo Man action figure for his son just before Christmas.


5. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

Such a beautiful movie for all the family! The makeup work in this movie is incredible. Who didn’t read the Dr Suess series as a child?

Description: a creature is intent on stealing Christmas


6. The Santa Clause (1994)

I love this movie – I also think Tim Allen is a hoot.

Description: When a man inadvertently kills Santa on Christmas Eve, he finds himself magically recruited to take his place.


7. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

I was so pumped to watch this when I was a child but my mother didn’t let me – I have since watched it as an adult and LOVED it!

Description: Jack Skellington, king of Halloweentown, discovers Christmas Town, but doesn’t quite understand the concept.


8. Christmas with the Kranks (2004)

I am sure I will want to skip Christmas once my children leave home too

Description: With their daughter away, her parents decide to skip Christmas altogether until she decides to come home, causing an uproar when they have to celebrate the holidays at the last minute


9. The Family Man (2000)

I use to watch this movie over and over as a teenager.

Description: A fast-lane investment broker, offered the opportunity to see how the other half lives, wakes up to find that his sports car and girlfriend have become a mini-van and wife.


10. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

I always dreamt of travelling as a child so watching this brought about my obsession with NYC – I would like to experience with my young family a white Christmas one year and this is the place I will do it!

Description: One year after Kevin was left home alone and had to defeat a pair of bumbling burglars, he accidentally finds himself in New York City, and the same criminals are not far behind.
