Winter With the changing of the seasons there comes a whole new set of trends, seasonal activities and must have items. Summer brings about the need for that perfect swimsuit and smooth legs that are worth showing off, but with winter we can gladly cover up those parts and hide away indoors if we so choose. However there is no fun in that, so instead grab yourself some essentials to make your winter both stylish and enjoyable.   WINTER COAT Depending on where you live, the weather could be a little on the cool side through winter’s worst, or it could be downright chilling through to the bones. Investing in a good quality winter coat that is also stylish is a must. The perfect winter coat will be one that will keep you warm on the coldest day, but not something that looks like it is designed for working in a freezer. Go with a staple colour such as black, brown or grey, or something a little bolder if it suits your wardrobe. You want to be able to throw this coat over whatever you are wearing, and take that look from day to night and from casual to dressy, with a few added accessories. Functional warmth at its best.   BOOTS Winter is the perfect time to invest in a pair of gorgeous boots to keep the toes warm and have them looking really fabulous while you are at it. Like the winter coat, consider colours that will suit a lot of your wardrobe so you can mix and match with different outfits. Your boots should also be suitable for your day to day lifestyle, so if you are not a master of the stiletto heel, consider a flat boot or a chunky heel. Actually, there is no reason to have just one pair of boots. A couple of pairs in different styles is perfectly acceptable!   SCARVES Nothing makes a winter outfit look more complete than throwing on a stylish scarf to keep our necks warm and add a splash of colour to our look. Scarves come in so many different colours, styles, fabrics and patterns so the options are endless. They are also usually inexpensive purchases so you can have a range to mix and match with your outfits.   LAYERS Surviving winter is all about layering so beneath that coat and scarf, your best option is layers of fashion staples that allow you to add or subtract a layer to suit the cold. Indoors, you may want to ditch a layer or two, but back outside you may want all the layers you can get. Invest in some simple basics like singlets, classic t-shirts, jeans and long sleeve shirts to keep you layered and warm this winter.   MOISTURISER Now let us not forget the importance of keeping our skin in the best possible shape in winter. With cold weather comes hotter showers, heaters and other moisture-sapping situations that could leave you more scaly than a lizard. Be sure to get yourself a good every day moisturiser for face and for body so you can keep yourself looking and feeling great. Even if you do choose to hide away your legs and banish the razor for a few months.   HATS Hats are not everyone’s cup of tea but a cute beret or pom-pom beanie can be a fun fashion add-on for your winter wardrobe. They are a cheap way of accessorising your outfit as well. Beware the dreaded hat hair though if you plan to take it off.   GLOVES There is nothing worse than freezing fingers. In fact, it can really impede on your ability to get things done first thing in the morning when your fingers are so cold, you can barely stand to use them. Grab yourself a pair of simple gloves that look nice but fill the purpose of keeping those fingers toasty. It will have you off to a much happier start to the day, as well as adding an extra fashion item to your look. These winter essentials will not only keep you warm during the colder months, but also have you looking stylish and fabulous all at the same time.
